The Onsen is rated exceptional in Japan. The hotel is famous for the Onsen which promotes the benefits for the skin. They do also offer table tennis, and a massage service at extra cost. At the Onsen area, you can enjoy the drink from the vending machine. They also provide a welcome drink, sleeping mask lotion, and sleeping mark (use with spring from the onsen) AEON department store is also located next door, Daiso also reachable by foot from the hotel. The Ramen store that is located across the street also offers cheap but very good taste. If you transport with a Tokai bus pass, you can reach the hotel by getting off at the Ito Kowakien bus stop, meaning that they have their own bus stop.

A really lovely ryokan with kind and polite staff. We stayed here for a night. It was a classic japanese room with tatami and futon. The breakfast and onsen was the highlight of the stay. Breakfast had a bit of everything such as sashimi & enoki (that you could sukiyaki), salad, tofu, yoghurt, yakizakana, chawanmushi and rice. It was really tasty. The breakfast place is right next to a koi pond and it was really relaxing. The onsen was spacious and clean- and there were a few different types like hot onsen and warm onsen. I really recommend the open air onsen. There are some great places to visit around the ryokan- we particularly liked orange beach.

The staff who checked us in was really helpful and even though she preempted us that her English was not as good, she was clear and helpful all the way through her guidance. All the staff we friendly and helpful. We booked the night with dinner and breakfast and both meals were prepared with local specialty ingredients (red snapper, certain vegetables and abalone) which really added to the experience. The rooms were really clean, spacious and tidy. The property may look old externally and certain amenities do show signs of age but you really have to pay close attention to notice. It felt modern and comfortable by most standards.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The room was large with tatami mats but western beds which were comfy. The onsen was a delight after I got over the fact I would be naked with strangers. Read up on the etiquette and think I did it correctly. There is one large pool 40 deg, one smaller hotter one 44 deg 🥵 and an outside one. There are separate ones for males. Each day these areas are swapped over, so if you have an onsen when you arrive you can try the other 3 the following morning before you leave if only staying one night. Take a stroll along the river for a romantic tie. Lovely bamboo pole artwork lighting

my first time in a ryokan: great experience altogether. very confortable room with futons, nice living/bedroom with two little tables, fridge, kettle with complimentary green tea + a sweet. the use of the internal onsen was great, very clean, quiet. complimentary yukata to use while there was amazing to get into the real atmosphere. free toiletries were also great. the ryokan is 10min by public bus from the main station, close to supermarkets and a couple of places to eat. Village centre is 10min walk.
